90,000 Martyrs In 2016

The upcoming report from Italian-based Center for Studies on New Religions, determined that 90,000 Christians were killed for their beliefs worldwide last year and nearly a third were at the hands of Islamic extremists like ISIS. Others were killed by state and non-state persecution, including in places like North Korea.

“U.S. policy has not had a strategy for specifically addressing the persecution of Christians,” Ryan Mauro, national security analyst for the Clarion Project, told FoxNews.com “For example, very few people are even aware that Iraqi Christians began organizing to defend themselves and needed our help.”

The study also found that as many as 600 million Christians were prevented from practicing their faith in 2016.

    1. We do have it easy here. That’s the danger of the prosperity, feel good gospel. We need to raise up missionaries to go to places that you may die getting the gospel there…if everyone is a feel good Christian…who’s going to go?

      1. I have been discouraged by the stringent criteria I have seen to approve missionaries. I understand doctrine, but denying a man to go overseas because he is overweight is over the top. Sadly, the denomination with which I was once affiliated gave us little interaction with home and foreign missions. We just gave toward an association that dispensed money, and we never knew the fruit of our investment. I have seen a growing movement of missionaries going overseas, training nationals, and equipping them to pastor their own people. I think the results are wonderful.

      2. I worked with Haitian refugees in the Bahamas. Lived amongst the real people of the island. Missionary work is life changing for you, sorry to hear about your experience.

      3. I’m sorry I misread your comment. I heard a Pastor say once, there aren’t any methodists or baptists in heaven…just CHRISTIANS. I believe that.
