4:30 A.M has become my prayer time to be completely alone with the Lord. At first it was hard to crucify my flesh to get up, but I persisted, until now it has become enjoyable. The early morning seems to have far less static than any other part of the day. The house is quiet and outside the world is too. It’s still dark outside, and most of the world around me is still asleep, but God is up and it’s a perfect time to commune with him. I saturate my life, my family, my church, my community, and my world in prayers of protection and blessing – all before the neighbors rooster starts crowing.
There is a stillness to the early morning hours, that gives me mental clarity and makes my prayers flow easier and feel “clearer”. I really feel Gods presence with me and I know the time is well spent. You can neglect a lot of things in this life, but don’t neglect your relationship with God. Do you need to wake up at 4:30 to pray in order to be saved? Nope. In order to be saved you need to believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and repent of your sins. I thought I’d throw that in there because for some reason some people vehemently resist anything that appears to be an addition to our walk with the Lord. You are saved by grace, but you walk by faith. And I have faith the more time I dedicate to my relationship with the Lord the better off I’m going to be.
I enjoy spending time with the Lord, especially at 4:30 in the morning, which is strange because I have never been a morning person. This is proof that anything is tolerable when done with the Lord by your side – even mornings . I suggest you try it, for me it has revolutionized my entire prayer life which of course results in a positive impact on my life overall. It’s become something I actually look forward too, it’s important to me in fact. It truly has made a noticeable impact on my life.
I always want to do this but man it’s a struggle ’cause I’m not a morning person either. 😛
Try it, it feels good to crucify the flesh.
The fact that you wake up at 430 specifically just to pray is beautiful! I know for a fact it requires self discipline & control. Amazing!
Which I only have through the grace of God 🙏🏻 if you ever want to give it a go, you will see what I mean about if feeling clearer.
This post reminds me of a song by Newsong called “Before the Day”. I am reminded that we must come apart to pray before we come apart.
I love this I will try to find it and give a listen later thanks
Totally with you on this, Tamara! I’m usually up around that time. I love the peace when you know most people are still sleeping. Very few distractions. Also, I often go for a coffee at 6am as soon as the coffee shop opens. It’s pretty much empty at that time. Good to find some peace and quiet amidst busy London life!
God bless 🙏🏻
Sounds amazing. I bet you get great coffee too. I make mine at home, its 30 miles to anything resembling a coffee shop here 😂😂😂
Oh, wow! Homemade is probably better 🙂 There’s an abundance of coffee shops in the town where I live. Amazing how many have sprung up over the last few years, coffee is crazily popular these days! But having coffee out is so expensive over time so I do limit myself 🙂
I love espresso ❤️ awwweee the days of living near civilization and culture seem like a million moons ago. Now it’s Folgers in a chipped mug over looking my horses awaiting their breakfast.
The Lord’s been good to me. I’ve had a little bit of it all. I can’t complain 🐴☕️
My hometown was small enough to be considered a village, I relate to this 🙂
So glad to have found you, Tamara. I, too, love the early morning stillness and all the blessings that come with it. My large, sweeping bedroom window takes in the sunrise and I start every day thinking about the fact that His mercies are new EVERY MORNING!
And I am also many miles from a coffee shop, lol, so home brewed coffee is my go-to as well.
Be blessed!
In a way I have learned to adore my home brewed coffee as well. If I travel, I miss it, and I always look forward to getting home and having a cup of coffee in my bed, with my bible, my tablet and of course my Lord ❤️
Nice post. I’m awake early everyday to talk with my Father before the day starts and yes I understand the clear feeling you talked about. The early morning is an important time of the day for me as a student, I feel understand and remember better what I read early in the morning.
Me too. It is a special time ❤️
Nice. Nothing can compete with pre-dawn or even dawn.
Btw, do you notice that the usual suspects do not choose to engage on something so remarkable as a time so reverent, or an invitation so to speak by reservation only? Love it.
God and His word have a way of sealing mouths.
I have lifting them up in prayer. I feel like either Satan will keep them from me in fear of those prayers and their effects OR the scales will fall off their eyes and ears and they will be saved. Either way, it works for me.
Amen!!
I am a night owl, but there is something so peaceful and exquisite about the morning. Chill of the night warming up to the day. Being reminded of God’s peace, through darkness His light is stronger. Nothing gets thru Him. 🙂 ❤
God is AMAZING! Everyday I think, it can’t get better and it does!
🙂 I can’t think that way anymore for the exact reason you listed. Instead, I’m encouraged to remember, “He’s the Alpha and Omega, having one best day isn’t a thing isn’t like our God. He isn’t limited.” 🙂 Amen! He is amazing!
