Beat The Devil In Every Battle : Put On Your Helmet & Protect Your Peace

The devil came to steal, kill and destroy…and Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

The devil is incapable of love. He is the “accuser” he constantly walks about seeking whom he can devour. Sometimes he shows up on your own doorstep, seeing what he can steal, kill and destroy in your life. Don’t worry, we serve a Sovereign God which means when he shows up, God already knows he’s there and God knows you WILL defeat him. Remember Job? That was God’s idea…Have you considered my servant Job? Do you think God would have offered up Job, if he in his divine foreknowledge, would have known Job would fail him? No, I almost see God smiling as he says it “Have you considered my servant Job?”. See Satan is only a created being, not at all on Gods level. He is not omnipotent or omniscience, but God is, and God does only that which ultimately brings him glory…

So if he puts you in the ring with the enemy, you WILL win.

Cover Your Head…

You cannot fight the devil with your heart and what you feel, you MUST fight him with your head and what you know. Your feelings are not stable, they are passing, they do not have the power to defeat the enemy. In fact your feelings are often the way the enemy will defeat you. They can easily be used as his weapon. He can confuse you, make you feel overwhelmed, sad, angry, bitter, down right broken-hearted. This is not where you fight from or you will lose 100% of the time…fight from your strength…your stability….what you KNOW.

The Bible says put on the helmet of salvation for a reason. It protects your most vulnerable part, your head. It is the place the enemy tries to strike you always, but YOUR SALVATION PROTECTS YOU. Put on your helmet, you are saved, you are an adopted child of God. You have authority to lose and bind things in heaven and on earth. You have authority to tread on scorpions and rebuke demons. You ARE POWERFUL IN CHRIST. This is where you fight from…what you KNOW regardless of how you feel.

You get on your feet and proclaim what you KNOW. That God almighty created you, ordained you, predestined you to a bright and powerful future, that God who created the universe, hung the stars in the heavens and breathed life into your being has adopted you, protects you, fights your battles for you and even if you stand at the gates of hell themselves – THEY SHALL NOT PREVAIL BECAUSE GOD IS GOD and the devil IS ALREADY DEFEATED.

Protect Your Peace…

“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” – Exodus‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do you think the devil wants your house, your car, your job? No. He can’t use any of these things. But he will take any of them if by taking them he can take your peace. That is ALWAYS his objective, to steal your peace. He will watch you, study you, and construct a plan that he can knock your knees right out from under you and walk away with that which he came for…your peace. Once you know this, it changes the game, because you see through his plays and his strategies. If you can learn to hold on to your peace REGARDLESS of what is going on around you, you will win.

Think about how sometimes it seems like everything goes wrong. You get a flat tire on your way to work. You make it to work, only to find out the Internet is down. You go to the fridge at lunch to find someone took your sandwich from the fridge. You clock out and go home to find your dog ran away. You sit down to watch TV and find the cable is out. These days of “aggravation” come our way to steal our peace and when your peace leaves something else often fills that void. Often on aggravating days, anger fills us up as our peace moves out. All of a sudden you won’t be acting Christ like, you will be reacting in anger to those around you. Maybe even snapping at people you love and unintentionally hurting others. This is what the enemy wants.

Because when we remain in Gods perfect peace it is IMPOSSIBLE to hurt others or be manipulated by the devil to do his dirty work!

On really bad days, maybe someone we love dies, or we get bad news of sickness or other serious issues. When we allow our peace to leave us the void gets filled with anxiety, depression, and sometimes it erodes our faith. Stealing our peace is ALWAYS the enemies first priority, it cracks the door to our most inner parts just enough, that he can squeeze his way inside to do as much damage as possible. Protect your peace like the priceless asset it is. Our peace balances us and protects us from all the works of Satan. Your peace is given to you, it is a gift from God, think about how precious that is. A gift from God. The Bible says every good and perfect gift is from the Lord…your peace is included in these gifts. God gives it to you and the devil wants it badly. With God’s peace firmly rooted in your heart, you can withstand any attack he brings your way. Gods peace anchors us to a strength that passes human understanding. His peace makes us “unshakable” and once you grasp this you will learn to value it more.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    1. And when you really grasp that fact…the devil can’t destroy you…the fact God has allowed him to come at you guarantees that God already knows you WILL defeat him.

      1. i just have to say that this reply of yours throughly blesses me and puts me at ease, yes really grasping the fact, that God IS in control and that victory is guaranteed brings to life the verse that says, “if Gods be for us, then who can be against us”! i LOVE this and Know it, [like you said, “beyond just ‘feeling it”],…and i BELIEVE it! Its truly empowering! This is important to me and essential to understand as a Christian

      2. Do not misconstrue my reply or read into it anything other than I love the Lord. I happened along an email you wrote me when you found my story about Elliott. I was literally repulsed by your attention to what I looked like, I was also disgusted that the first words out of your mouth when you phoned me were comments about how delightful my voice was. It’s gross. I’m distraught over my son, the last thing I need is someone using that in order to try to weasel into my life. No thanks that’s sleazy .

  1. i love this edifying post and needed it as a reminder* and as additional knowledge like Michael said in the above comment, “Tremendous Insight”! //// Theres nothing like peace of mind….its kinda like, “theres no place like home”….Shalom and thank you again Tamara, sooo much!

  2. Amen! Amen! Amen!!!
Tamara you have spoken what I needed to hear and be reminded of. Praise Jesus!!!

I’m going to add this post to my community spotlight posts as well, it appears laters this month, I think it will encourage and help others. 🙂

      1. Oh, I can promise you ❤ God has been guiding me with this knowledge, especially within the past twleve months, but I didn't have words exactly for this. Hold onto what we know, not feel. Feeling has to do with us. But trust, truth, and knowing this comes strength in Christ and His Spirit. You gave me the right words. ❤ For many years, in a dream, He has taught me to trust Him, not what I feel or think I am capable of. But to rely on His truth. In dreams when I've been cornered by darkness, this truth has been a saving grace. God directing my eyes and heart to Him even when I am afraid.

      2. If we KNOW Him, we are safe 🙏🏻❤️ feelings fade, Gods truth is absolute and eternal. The Bible says the Word of God is settled in Heaven. It will never change, trust his truths.

      3. Amen, ❤ yes! At the end of the day, it is one of the most important things to me. That God know me sincerely in my relationship with Him, and I know Him.
