Feel Good Gospel Inc. : Pretty Little Lies

Feel Good Gospel, Inc : Pretty Little Lies

As a Christian you will undoubtedly encounter those people who are blatantly deceived by the devil and any one of his foreign religions – headed by one of his projected personas – Muhammad, Buddha, Jah…but do not be deceived he is in our churches, masquerading as an angel of light.

There are many in this day and age who have been coddled with many of the pretty little lies that Satan loves to tell. “A half truth is a whole lie” is one of my favorite sayings. Some of them include “god loves everyone it doesn’t matter what you call him we all serve the same god – love” that’s strange because my God spent the entire Old Testament warning of serving pagan gods, marrying women who worshiped pagan gods, and loathing Baal worshippers. Did God change?

Absolutely not. Some deceived people’s revelation of him has changed, and they then preach a lie, causing others to fall. God never changes. Gods Word never changes. A wrong 2000 years ago is still a wrong today. The second commandment warns for us not to commit idolatry and millions are today doing this by worshipping a false god they have created using bits and pieces of the Bible to mold him in the image they want to see.

Galatians 1:8-9 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

What is the truth? I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father unless through me. Period. Narrow is the path that leads to heaven (one way Jesus) and wide the path that leads to hell (ALL OTHER RELIGIONS) I am the door…Jesus says. No man may enter the Kingdom of heaven but through me.

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

New Ageism is nothing new. It has been around since people started worshipping the creation rather than the creator. It has seeped into mans hearts in the feeling he can be his own god. All forms of deception lead back to one entity – Satan. Satan gives you what you want and tells you what you want to hear to deceive you into betraying God.

Pretty little lies dripping off his forked tongue…..

There are plenty of ways to heaven…

Relax, everyone gets in…

God loves everyone no one goes to hell…

Hell doesn’t exist…

God wants you to do what makes you happy…

even if it goes against the Bible he won’t care, he’s too loving to care…

Don’t make unbelievers feel uncomfortable with your gospel message…

You will make them sad or angry if you speak up…

God doesn’t really care as long as you are a good person…

that’s what matters most.

Pretty soon it’s…

You can be like God…

You are God….

New Ageism and The Feel Good Gospel Go Hand In Hand

People often say God doesn’t want you to suffer. Really? Did John The Baptist suffer? Jesus called him the greatest prophet ever to be born of a woman and he died with his head ending up on a silver platter because a wicked little girl danced for a wicked King.

Mary, Blessed Above All Women, Mother of God – did she suffer? She has a baby in a manger and spends his childhood fleeing him being murdered by Herod and then she watched him being beaten, mocked, spit upon and crucified. That doesn’t look like the feel Good Gospel promise.

Actually the Bible promises something else, it promises you will be hated. It doesn’t mince words, it comes right out and says it – you will be hated, you will be persecuted for my names sake. The world will hate you like it hated me.

I understand, it’s hard to sell that Gospel. Pastors worry enough about getting people in the church they don’t want to get the pews filled only to scare people away with the true Gospel. Come join us to be hated by the world! Your life won’t get easier it’s guaranteed to get harder.

What happened to all the original disciples, do you know? These men walked with Jesus, broke bread with Jesus, sat and went out with Jesus – surely being Jesus original true followers…their life must have gotten better once Jesus went to heaven and could pull strings on their behalves right?

• Simon, AKA Peter: Simon-Peter : was crucified upside down under Nero.

• Andrew: Andrew was scourged, and then tied rather than nailed to a cross, by Aegeates in 69 AD, for not denouncing Christianity. Andrew lived for two days, during which he preached to passersby.

• James (son of Zebedee, AKA James the Greater): beheaded by sword under the governor of Judea, Herod Agrippa.

• John: Lived to a ripe old age. Some speculate this was because he took care of Mary.

• Philip: scourged, imprisoned, and crucified in 54 AD in the city Heliopolis

• Bartholomew: two accounts are given of his death, in one he was beaten and then crucified him, while in another, he was skinned alive and then beheaded.

• Thomas: martyred by running through with a spear.

• Matthew: stabbed in the back by an swordsman sent by King Hertacus

• James (son of Alphaeus, AKA James the Less): At the age of 94, he was beaten and stoned by persecutors, and then killed him by hitting him in the head with a club.

• Jude: crucified at Edessa (the name of cities in both Turkey and Greece) in 72 AD.

• Simon: crucified in 74 AD in England.

• Judas Iscariot: committed suicide shortly after betraying Jesus.

Does this look like the prosperity gospel message? It looks like the exact opposite, you will lose everything, up to and including your life for your faith! Crack open your Bible and it’s pages speak volumes on taking up your cross and following Jesus – Jesus is truthful when he says they will hate you because they first hated me! This isn’t the feel good message new Christians are spoon fed on Sundays. So either God changed or or the gospel message we preach has! And God doesn’t change! I am the same yesterday, today and tomorrow Jesus tells us.

People don’t need the feel good gospel message. The feel good gospel message has sin running rampant in people’s lives. Conviction has been replaced with comfort. Truth has been watered down to appease those it might offend and what are we left with? A pretty little lie. A false God and gospel molded into the image of what we want to see – sacrificing the truth of the gospel on the altar of public opinion.

Your Bible is the sword of the spirit. It is your weapon of defense against all false doctrine…do you know how many people died just so you can have that leather bound, custom engraved, calf skin version of the KJV of the Bible all comfy on your lap at Sunday Morning service? People died terrible deaths from being burned at the stake, to having their mouths filled with gunpowder then lit exploding their heads instantly. Tongues were cut out, entrails ripped out, mothers and fathers burned alive in front of their children so you could have the Word of God, this is not the feel Good Gospel so many love. All of these people gave their lives so that YOU could be properly armed to not only receive your own salvation BUT to impart its TRUE MESSAGE with others Jesus Christ IS the Son of God : REPENT AND BE SAVED!!!!

Next time sharing the true gospel makes you feel afraid of rejection remember that Jesus died for that person. You MUST tell them that. Never be ashamed to declare your love for Christ – it is the greatest news you can give anyone!

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

2 Peter 2:1-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Romans 16:17-18 And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.

  1. I spoke with a counselor a few years ago and expressed to her that I could not understand why it seemed like I could not get a break because I was doing the right thing, and the one who sinned against me seemingly prospered. The counselor told me that we so easily buy into the prosperity gospel that says we won’t suffer if we do right. She reminded me that not one of us is exempt from trials and persecution. Although I knew that in the back of my mind, the reminder was timely.

    1. The whole prosperity gospel goes against the New Testaments account of Christianity. In the Old Testament we see that King Solomon and King David were blessed. Abraham was blessed…others were blessed. Job was blessed…lost it all…and God blessed him with more than he previously had. I’m not against Christians being blessed but that can’t be what your faith is built on – getting “things” from God. That’s sandy ground. It has to run deeper than that…to have true faith means gladly suffering or being willing to die. How are we going to bring up missionaries to go to hostile lands if it’s all about the feel good stuff. … and will that faith be dissolved in crisis. I don’t know it bothers me because conviction is actually what people NEED and the real gospel message speaks to our human heart through the Holy Spirit in such a way that transforms us!

  2. I’ve got some issues with this, but I’m not quite sure how to express them. One of the many things I’ve struggled with is the fact that the Bible has so many places where it contradicts itself when you take it on face value.

For example, look at some of the old testament ways that God directed followers to treat sinners, then in the new testament, we’re directed to love them. Granted, this is an over-simplification, but the point is still there. Why are we directed one way in the beginning and then another way towards the end?

I recognize there is an argument to be made that at different periods of time, God directed us to do different things based on the nature of people at the time and what they would understand and accept, but it all leads to salvation later in the Bible – which is the main purpose we are supposed to understand.

Of course, it leaves me questioning.

I used to be of the opinion that the one thing the Bible (& God, obviously) promise over and over throughout the bible is that you are guaranteed to suffer for your faith. It’s a promise that was fulfilled by various persons in the bible and you listed all of the Apostles suffering, the martyrs, etc. I’m always amazed at the dishonesty in people who claim that because their lives are so perfect, that it is proof of God’s love for them. In the back of my mind, I’m going “That’s bullshit…the truly faithful ALWAYS suffer”.

    1. Righteous indignation, love righteousness and hate iniquity. Righteousness is like big juicy grapes and iniquity is like poison ivy. What do you want growing in your garden? One blesses you when you encounter it, it’s fruit is sweet and good for you. The other is pointless other than making us suffer.

Old Testament or new we are taught to love righteousness (real righteousness NOT religiosity) and hate iniquity. The tipping point, the turning point between Old Testament sanctification through moral, civil and ceremonial law was fulfilled on Christs work on the Cross. “it is finished!” – Before Christ, imagine atonement was temporary, man was born at enmity with God he was constantly using animals and works to sanctify and justify himself. He was constantly teetering back and forth. God being just and Holy could not even be experienced by someone unclean or that person would die.

Old Testament people were made unclean by touching or eating unclean foods. Flash forward to N. Testament unclean things like the woman with an issue of blood were made CLEAN by touching Jesus. We are made clean through our reconciliation with Christ…

      Long story short…Jesus happened.

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The entire concept of loving our enemies is not nullified in hating iniquity. This perhaps is where the hate the sin, love he sinner concept comes from I assume.

Humans have concluded that hate is an “evil attribute” my Bible tells me differently. Hate in Hebrew means “to love less” so certain scriptures seem extremely harsh. When the Bible tells us to hate our mother and father…that seems contradictory to the commandment to love our mother and father…but in actuality…that scriptures indicates we are to love our parents less than we love Jesus.

When you go deep into studying the scriptures past the surface reading the contradictions melt away. Usually it’s because the translation from Hebrew or Greek to English has perhaps not changed the meaning but has left it less clear. That’s why I use biblarc.com and compare translations. I also read two or three commentaries on scriptures I am studying and it always serves to unlock answers.

Whenever you have a question research it out. Never be afraid to find the truth. God is truth. You aren’t going to disprove him by asking questions. You will only solidify your own faith. One of my professors says we all have questions, study them, don’t hide from them in fear. God is real.

    1. We must all speak the truth! Popularity contests we are not going to win…but that’s ok…this world hasn’t got anything for us Christians!

  3. This is a message that we Christians do need to hear over and over again 🙂 I do wonder though, wouldn’t it be better to exclude Judas Iscariot from the above list..?

    1. If I had felt I should leave it out…I would have. He wasn’t martyred – he suffered his own demise from a guilty feeling of ultimate betrayal and suicide. It’s part of the story too.

  4. Sad!! Christian and Jewish People Persecution has been happening for Thousands of years, but, it is even worse today!!
