The Greek word for the gift of prophecy is propheteia which is the ability to receive a divinely inspired message and deliver it to others in the church.
1 Corinthians 14:1 to “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.” To prophesy is a spiritual gift. It is to reveal divine revelation, knowledge given by God, to others. It is not complicated. It comes in varying forms, from words of knowledge & encouragement, to detailed visions and dreams. I am sharing this video of a 2 year old child prophesying the coming of Christ. She has knowledge outside her understanding. Using the words “Abba Up” pointing towards heaven. And she bows 3 times. The number three is a symbol of confirmation. I believe this is what the true spiritual gift of prophecy looks like. We know for a fact that her prophesy is true. No man knows the day or the hour, he will come like a thief in the night, so we must always be ready! This is still prophetic in many ways, she speaks truth of an event she has no knowledge of. Later in the video the mother explains the details of what happened prior to this video being made. It’s very beautiful, the Lord is coming…are you ready to meet your King?

In my denominational circles, I was taught that such gifts died with the apostles. I have come to discover that God will do whatever He wants however He wants through whomever He wants.
Two verses come to mind…
First pertaining to this video….
Acts 2:17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
And secondly to those that have knowledge of God but lack understanding to His INFINITE Power….
And 2 Timothy 3:5
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

I have sensed this my whole life. The little girl that’s right. Be ready.
I agree with my whole heart. I saw this video this morning and I had been praying about writing a post on prophecy and it was as if the Lord just dropped this on me and said “it’s that simple”.
Truly, it is this simple if one would have the truth above all. I have physical blindness, but my heart recognizes the beauty of the truth that perfect eyes cannot appreciate.
The wonderful truth that I have come to know is that God has prepared for us a place where there will be no more tears. He will take the repentant from this madness in good time. As much as He has mysteriously guided me throughout my life and intervened when I have been in peril, He has given me this deep sense that He is coming in good time. The little girl’s words ring as true to me as my faith which has already become my sight.
I pray for us to be ready because, as the song somewhat goes, there would be no time to change our minds when the Son has come and we’ve been left behind.
