I love Sundays. Such a beautiful day to relax and fellowship with the Lord and other believers. I attend the morning service and then we all go someplace nice to eat. It’s such a beautiful time of fellowship and sharing in Gods Love. I usually come home and relax for a few hours, make some coffee and fiddle on the Internet, then go back to church for the 6 PM service. It’s a full day of just enjoying all the blessings God has given to me. My family and my church family ❤️
Some Bible verses that speak to me today….is there anything more beautiful than the Word of God…I think not….I hope you are having a wonderful Spirit Filled Sunday as well!
Psalm 61:1-4b “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.”
Psalm 62:1-2 “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Hebrews 4: 9-11 “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. – Romans 1:20
Beautiful reflections … perfect for a day of rest and worship.
❤️❤️❤️ yes! The Word of God Is SOOOOOO refreshing!
Yea! Sundays are awesome. I love Sundays especially Sunday school classes
I really like that swan picture. I love Sundays so much. Even today when I felt a little disappointed at first it is still my favorite day of the week – always. What is better than focusing on Jesus. Praise Him!
Ameeennn. Sundays feel good ❤️
Something I really loved when I lived in Little Rock, AR was the group of friends I had. They had started a church there, and they came from a background of the importance of fellowship. I had never really experienced that before, and I loved it. I loved having the group meal after service, and talking together. It’s something I feel a lot of churches (rather the body of believers) are missing out on. I miss that. 🙂
I go to a Nazarene Church – it’s a denomination but it’s not at all like a denomination- I grew up in the Baptist and Methodist church…then went to a non denominational church for several years as a young woman….after moving here it was hard finding a real church family…but these guys are great ❤️
❤ ❤ My home church is a Naz!!! When we built our new church (cause the old one was falling apart, built in the late 1800s) our pastor named our new church, Living Faith. I've grown up in the teachings of sanctification, and in Little Rock, where my toxic church post came from, I learned not all Naz churches will have the right atmosphere, even if the shepherd has the right teaching. I was considering asking you where you go to church, and I just feel that much more connected knowing now you go to a Naz. 🙂
I honestly love it so much. Our Pastor Greg is a wonderful Spirit Filled man and his teachings are always so loving yet edifying. He tells you what you need to hear…but in such a loving way….full of truth. I really didn’t know much about them, but they held a revival one night and I went and I just kept going. Everyone is so loving and the doctrine in super sound. Plus they do a lot of outreach to missionaries, samaritans purse, and are active in the community. We are doing a Christmas Cantada ❤️
That’s so wonderful! If I lived near you, I would join your church 🙂 we don’t have any Naz churches around the area I live in. I’ve thought about visiting a Church of God, I’ve looked at what the doctrine believes and it seems fairly similar to the Naz’s and upholds sanctification. My home pastor, he grew up Catholic, and he was an alcoholic. He never had a true relationship with Christ till he was older, late 20s/30s I think. And man did God use that man, still does. Pastor Jim gives convicting sermons, coming from a heart of love, so I totally hear you. God blessed him by taking away his thorn of alcoholism immediately when he sought forgiveness, and he’s so thankful for that. He struggled a lot in his early days, wondering why God wanted him to be a pastor. He struggled showing love. One day, an older pastor had encouraged him by telling him, “Those who love much, have been forgiven much.” And it broke him, it really spoke to him. So, I completely understand what you are saying. I’m so glad God has put you in my life as a sister of Christ. 🙂
The Church of Gods that I have visited have always been really nice, try it, if it’s not your cup of tea just don’t go back. Buuuuttttt it could be an amazing new family for you too! I’d check it out, I’m sure you miss going, I’ll pray for you to find a good church home.
Thank you! 🙂 It’s nice when I visit home, I’m able to visit my church family. But it would be nice, and exciting to meet new people. I hope my heart isn’t used, and I do fear visiting for this reason, but I also really want to try to make new Christian friends, and I enjoy worshipping God in a group setting as well.
You remember a little verse that says ” I have not given you a Spirit of fear but of what???? Power love and a sound mind 😁 it’ll be ok ❤️
Amen! Yes, that was a verse He gave me when I was struggling a lot. ❤
The Lord is SOOOO good to us!!!!
